Did you know? August represents the second month of increasing nationwide foot traffic, with home showings for three of the four regions seeing increases in year-over-year activity, according to data from SentriLock®, LLC, a lockbox company. As a matter of fact, August showings were up 20% over this time last year and represents the largest year-over-year showings in Sentrilock® Showings since October 2017. Nationwide, August 2020 Sentrilock® showings were 1,176,157 while August 2019 showings were 978,328.
As has been mentioned in previous articles, the typical spring buying season was put on hold due to the pandemic this year. This has created a pent up demand from buyers looking to either enter the market or trade up in the market for more space. In addition, the continued low mortgage rates have only increased the buyer demand. With this said, the inventory has continued to provide challenges. This continued tight inventory only reinforces how impressive the increased foot traffic for showings has been.
