- sales above list price
- sale-to-list price ratio
The top markets for 2022
Not surprisingly, The Sunshine State continues to dominate the real estate market. In fact, 8 out of the top 10 metro markets are in Florida. Seven of these markets are in southwest Florida with Weston, FL being the lone southeast market cracking the top 10 list. The results were as follows:
- South Sarasota, FL (Sarasota County)
- East Venice, FL (Sarasota County)
- Englewood, FL (Sarasota County)
- Venice, FL (Sarasota County)
- Nokomis, FL (Sarasota County)
- The Meadows, FL (Sarasota County)
- Chatham, Cape Cod, MA
- Weston, FL (Broward County)
- Lake Lure, NC
- Downtown Fort Myers, FL (Lee County)
Summary
While it is no secret that Florida is arguably the most desired destination for many Americans, we are also seeing demographic changes that are also contributing to the growth being seen in The Sunshine State. Although the nation is experiencing a labor shortage, it is not necessarily due to younger people not wanting to work. In large part, we are seeing the baby boomer generation retiring and leaving the workforce. Subsequently, many of these retirees are also choosing to move south to paradise. This is yet another reason for the continued bullish outlook for the Florida real estate market.
